Pat Byrd with her 2 finished UFO's.  The first is a Large Wool Applique Quilt... The second is a Large Americana Wool and Cotton Block of the Week from Corn Wagon Quilt Company Below is the back of the quilt... everyone likes seeing the quilting on the back of quilts!  Pat said she doesn't like to change the color of thread to match the back sometimes. Vonda made this cute quilt for her grandson and he loves it!  Check out the way it is quilted on the back. And yet another of Shauna's wonderful scrappy 9 patch quilts made with 2" squares.  I never get tired of these!  They are so pretty. Audrey sewing up a storm in her retirement! She finished 2 blocks for the challenge she joined, covered a clothes pin bag, completed 2 new shirts for her husband who is the best dressed entomologist in Moab ! Several of the little Cross-stitch patterns she has completed.   Also, she whipped out these cute little bird ornaments which she gave out at the picnic. Since we had a small number of attendees at our May meeting our show and tell was smaller than usual but inspiring and fun none the less. Deb Slechta showed this colorful curtain she made using Korean Patchwork - Pojagi.   Here is a link if you want to know more about Pojagi. Korean Patchwork - Pojagi She also was happy to report she finally got her new eyes... a successful cataract surgery!  Yay! Deb and Audrey are holding up a string quilt made by Shauna!  So pretty and colorful.  She strip pieced this on 6" telephone book paper. This beauty is another one of Crystal's masterpiece wool and cotton applique quilts.  It is a UFO measuring about 60" square.   Audrey did a little jig to share that she now has a new hip!  Isn't modern medicine wonderful?  We can see, dance, walk, and hear!  Despite the trials of aging... Life is good most of the time especially when we get sew and create!  

April Show and Share Mary p resented a lesson on applique.  She showed a bit of her process and the wall hangings she made doing fusible raw edge applique.   Mary showed us the hat she embellished with beading.  She was working to finish the band at March's Sew Saturday. Mary is showing her cute Easter Egg shaped table runner.  She explained how she did the Quilt As You Go technique. Cathy is making Simple Whatnots by Kim Diehl in a Grand Junction class at the Owl's Nest Quilt Store.  She said she is learning so much by piecing all the little pieces.
