July Show and Tell

It looks like fireworks.                     Below the back of the quilt  with some clever piecing. Bernie explained that she is now eating lunch with the seniors, some of which need longer aprons to catch the food.  She made this one and plans on making more to give away at Christmas. Here Bernie shows off her little zippered selvage bag.   Arran with her American Banner.  She will be sending it to her Mother in Law who lives in Florida.  She can enjoy it for the whole year that we are celebrating 250 years as a country. Mary's older sister pieced the quilt above. June Picnic - Show and Tell

Potluck Picnic... Great Food and Company! Attendance including our 2 youngest future quilters was 15! Thanks Arran for being our photographer! Mali and Poppy enjoying the wildlife at Rotary Park.    SNAILS! Lot's of Snails! Bernie with her Red, White, and Blue quilt top.  Border fabric given to her by Cathy Gerving. Shauna brought a quilt she finished about 12 years ago.  Vonda requested seeing it again and vows to someday make one of her own! Glenda bought this quilt at the Grand Junction Show for a mere $90.  She always wanted to make one of her own.  Beautiful Fabric!   The Back is a beauty in and of itself! Kim shared her picture of this quilt she made for her oldest son.  It is a pattern from Missouri Star Quilt Company named Grand Adventure. Love the colors and the quilting pattern. The back of the quilt is done in an Ombre.  

May Show and Tell

This is the top of our Opportunity Quilt for 2028... All made with a beautiful selection of donated fabric, pieced by Mary Wakeley.   A couple months ago, there was a discussion about yo-yo quilts... Peggy remembered that she inherited this one made by her Mother in Law or by her mother.  Unfortunately, the history is lost.  The Yo-yo's were sewn onto an old coverlet.  The edges are unfinished.  Perhaps the maker was going to keep adding to it? A close up of the yo-yos. Shauna made two aprons for our service project with a cute kitchen motif embroidered onto them. Another 9-patch scrap quilt made by Shauna with her 1.5" squares!  So Pretty! Pat made this bag at last month's Sew Saturday.  She was able to get it back from her granddaughter for show and tell.   Michelle having fun making little quilted projects with fabric  from the Grand Center Quilt Room.
