August 2022 Show and Tell Moab Quilts Quilt Guild

Lou Gostlin showed this quilt she made using a special set of rulers.  She taught a lesson on showing how to make it.  Members were asked to bring supplies, fabric, rotary cutter, and mat and we had a demonstration and project activity.  Lou and Deb assisted all who had their supplies, Deb and supplied several sets of the ruler that were shared.  Many went home with a cut out kit, ready to be finished at home. Crystal Day showed us this Scandanavian Christmas, hand made, needle Turn  in wool and Embroidery Crystal's Potter's Bench Wool applique quilt.  Crystal is a master at making these beautiful wool quilts.  They require a lot of time and special embroidery stitches. Mariam showed us this small quilt that she made for the Moab museum challenge.  In 2001 it was the first time the museum asked us to make the challenge quilts.  This has become a favorite for the museum, which shows the guild work in May of each year.   \ This quilt was made for the second year of the museum cha
