August 2022 Show and Tell Moab Quilts Quilt Guild
Lou Gostlin showed this quilt she made using a special set of rulers. She taught a lesson on showing how to make it. Members were asked to bring supplies, fabric, rotary cutter, and mat and we had a demonstration and project activity. Lou and Deb assisted all who had their supplies, Deb and supplied several sets of the ruler that were shared. Many went home with a cut out kit, ready to be finished at home.
Mariam showed us this small quilt that she made for the Moab museum challenge. In 2001 it was the first time the museum asked us to make the challenge quilts. This has become a favorite for the museum, which shows the guild work in May of each year.
Mary Wakeley made this small quilt for charity made with fabric from the quilting room here in the Grand Center. Thank you Mary, I know the recipient will love it.
Crystal's Potter's Bench Wool applique quilt. Crystal is a master at making these beautiful wool quilts. They require a lot of time and special embroidery stitches.

This quilt was made for the second year of the museum challenges. It's called "Eagles Watch" a patriotic theme based on the song "God Bless America". A truly inspirational quilt for patriotic American quilters.
Mary Wakely had demonstrated last month how to make these table toppers using a special triangular 60 degree ruler. Toppers shown here, finished.
Glenda Ciarus with her Cowboy Panel, shown here, front and back. It was made for her brother's birthday, a lap quilt. It is truly an impressive picture and I'm sure he'll love it. It was quilted with a long arm machine by Pat Byrd.
Lou Gostlin had this panel, So Cute, she used as a center for a charity quilt for Under Dog Rescue.
Quilts, front and back, made by Deb Slechta for a neighbor who took care of her garden while she was on vacation. I'm sure the neighbor will love to use either side, so colorful.
Shauna made this quilt, shown front and back, for a friend who is getting married. this girl said she loves the color purple, so purple it is, mostly. The pattern is called "Double Triangle" and is a favorite pattern, works up so well, but is time consuming.
Lisa Ceniceros shows us this beautiful quilt, front and back, she made as Block of the Month from "Summer Moon". It was started during the lockdown 2020, and finished February 2022. The colors are so varied and complimentary, so very pretty.
