May 2023 Delicate Stitchers Show and Tell

This Red - n - White beauty by Lou was made with 2 1/2 strips.  Notice the block is the same pattern alternating the color placement.  Below is the dramatic backing for this wonderful quilt. This Log Cabin quilt shown by Lou, is on her guest bed at home.  It's colors: gray, red, and white make a really beautiful centerpiece for her room.  Also, it's a UFO for this year. Wow, this stunning quilt from Pat is taken from a Judy Neimeyer Paradise in Bloom pattern.  It was done in 6 months - a UFO!  The technique was taught in a class by Mary Wakely.  The pictures below are closeups of the design, the second one of the applique flowers from the corners.  The picture of the back shows the complicated quilting design, using several colors of thread.  Beautiful work, Pat  Shown here by Crystal is her Tulip quilt made at a January retreat.  Pictured below is the back she made from extra fabric from the front - an interesting technique for...

  “Flower Power” DELICATE STITCHERS QUILT GUILD 2023 ANNUAL THEMED CHALLENGE MOAB MUSEUM MAY, 2023         This year our theme was Flower Power.  The quilts entered feature flowers or flowered fabric and are small wall quilts with a perimeter of no more than 120".   The theme allowed quilters to enter quilts they have done in the past if it involved flowers.  Enjoy this garden of quilts.
