March 2023 Delicate Stitchers Show and Tell

Image
Mary is proud to admit that she lives and works with ADQD.  It's not so bad - it's Attention Deficit QUILT  Disorder. This charming wall hanging is made from an assortment of golden Hexies with honey bees looking on. Mary had a lot to show tonight.  Mostly they were her work in behalf of  Meals on Wheels project.  The guild was asked to provide placemats for the patrons, which they could then keep at home, to clean and use as they receive meals. Mary's mats - some used panels and borders added - Two gold and blue mats - and 4 farm themed. Really beautifully done work I'm sure a lucky Meals on Wheels patron will love.   Peggy showed us some cloth beads she likes to make from scraps of her fabric, cut into strips and rolled to form beads.  She creates these as she rests in front of the TV, and says she will some day use them to embellish quilts.   Deb showed us this "Mondo Bag" she created from really beautiful Batik fabric squares.  ...

Delicate Stitchers quilts made for Moab Pregnancy Center

Image
I - Shauna - made this first quilt from my "cheater" fabric.  Each square was already there, I did not have to piece it.  The second picture is of the back, random squares I pulled from my stash and pieced together.  I quilted it along the lines on the front fabric. These quilts were made by quilters in the Delicate Stitchers guild.  They are baby size and crib size and will be given to people who have made use of the Pregnancy Center.  The Center offers classes and information on how to care for the babies and children.  When a mother, or a couple finishes certain instruction, they are rewarded with a handmade treasure.  Thanks quilters.
