March 2023 Delicate Stitchers Show and Tell

Mary is proud to admit that she lives and works with ADQD.  It's not so bad - it's Attention Deficit QUILT  Disorder.

This charming wall hanging is made from an assortment of golden Hexies with honey bees looking on.

Mary had a lot to show tonight.  Mostly they were her work in behalf of  Meals on Wheels project.  The guild was asked to provide placemats for the patrons, which they could then keep at home, to clean and use as they receive meals.

Mary's mats - some used panels and borders added - Two gold and blue mats - and 4 farm themed.

Really beautifully done work I'm sure a lucky Meals on Wheels patron will love.

Peggy showed us some cloth beads she likes to make from scraps of her fabric, cut into strips and rolled to form beads.  She creates these as she rests in front of the TV, and says she will some day use them to embellish quilts.

Deb showed us this "Mondo Bag" she created from really beautiful Batik fabric squares.  She says she doesn't read instructions on a project like this.  She likes to improvise, and admits to making some mistakes.  That just means she took more time, and learned a lot.  The bag took has some lining with added pockets inside.  Good work, Deb.

Glenda used a lot of time and lots of her fabric to add to the collection for the Meals on Wheels project.  The yellow in the second picture is the backing for one of the placemats.

Really pretty front on this mat.,

Backings for two of the mat, showing off the cute fabric and the quilting.  Thanks, Glenda for  your contribution.  It was fun work.

This s a bag made by Crystal made with English Paper Piecing.  The second picture is the back of the bag made from a heavy, fancy gold special fabric.

Backing to Crystal's sampler quilt, description below.

Audrey, created this entry to our "Flower Power" challenge.  A Train going through the flowers. So Pretty,

This is a quilt, an interpretation of the color "wheel" to show the possibilities in color use in our quilts.  Thanks for your work, Audrey.  We all need one of these to study as we learn color use in all our art work.

Shauna showed us this baby quilt made to donate to the Pregnancy Center.   The front is shown on an earlier blog - made from "cheater" fabric.  It means the pictures are not "pieced" but the squares are printed on.  This is the back of the quilt, and it is pieced  using fabric from her stash that compliments the front.

This is the front of the quilt from Crystal.  It is a sampler  from "Melissa Cory" quilts.  This quilt is so beautiful with it's combination of blocks and colors.  She said she took one block out 4 times, to redo and make it perfect.  Somehow, the front got separated from the back pictured on this blog.  It's easy to see that the back goes with this front - pictured above.  Very impressive backing design, Crystal.
