November Show and Tell

Glenda showing the front and back of her quilt
she made.  It is a pattern from Melissa Corry entitled "Playful Posies."
Deannne made this cute panel quilt of the excavator for her grandson.
Notice how the wood pattern on the back of the quilt matches the colors on the front!

Audrey brought her ranger friend's quilt to show.  It was quilted by Mary Wakeley.  Mary explained that she used black batting for this dark quilt which helps with the needle pulling up the light color.  We also noted that this quilt was striking even though the contrast was subtle.

Audrey showing the new water proof bag she made for her bicycle.

This is Audrey's Medallion Quilt.  Such a fun design with the multiple scrappy borders surrounding the fox.

Audrey also showed her collapsible thread catcher...This is a picture from online since I didn't get a picture of hers.  They are fun to make, very portable, and handy.  I keep one next to my chair in the livingroom.  It's handy for lots of little crumbs.  She said she would be glad to teach others to make one.

Above is a sweet Beatrice Potter Panel Quilt put together by Tina pictured below peeking out from behind!  Mary Wakeley quilted it and made it look as if it was pieced.

Shauna is still trying to use up all her squares!  Shown above is a 9-patch with sashing..and of course, here is the back.

Peggy showing her Medallion Quilt.  She explained that it is a finished UFO from 2003.  Once she finished it, she decided to use it to make a statement about what makes America great.

Peggy with another Medallion Quilt.  The center section is felt applique made from a kit by Norma Whaley.

Mary Wakeley showing her Medallion made with scraps and embellished with beads.

Marian showing her assymetrical medallion with her favorite topic... birds... specifically this one features Acorn Woodpeckers.

She also explained how she made photos of bark and transferred it to fabric.  So much to learn!

Marian showing a quilt that Diane Vliem purchased at the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum... What a wonderful example of a medallion quit with a big variety of borders surrounding the center.  BTW it is for sale.

Aaron showing her Medallion Quilt.  It will eventually be a curtain in her daughter's room.  She has been enjoying the hand stitching, but now needs to put it in high gear to get it ready for our Medallion Museum Challenge Show which will be hung in December.

This is Glenda's Dresdan Plate Medallion!
