Show and Tell, November 2023

Magnificent "Opportunity Quilt" our guild's raffle quilt.  So beautifully done,  It will be shown at several venues around town to raise money  for the guild. The drawing for the lucky winner will be in March.   We counted 17 participants that contributed to the making of this quilt.  It is sure to make an impression at the venues where it will be shown and bid on.

This is a pattern by Judy Neimeyer, it's a Flying Geese table runner shown for us by Mary.  Very beautiful, Mary.

This is an Irish Chain variation quilt by Crystal.  The chain is the white squares, the variation comes from the center applique.  Crystal is the master of woolen applique.  Thank you for showing this wonderful quilt.

From Audrey, we see several examples of Gift Bags.  She will be demonstrating how to make these at the December Sew Saturday - just in time for Christmas.

Audrey brought to show, this Mexican Star finished for Bonnie Crysdal. Several of our quilters made this intriguing quilt pattern, very pretty.  The next picture is of the back, notice the colorful material, with the insert made from fabric from the front.

Another work from Audrey, this Christmas Wall Hanging, a Christmas panel.  This is so cute, Audrey.  She was quilting on it at the meeting and I'm hoping she'll show it again when it's finished with binding.

Pat had several place mats to show us, these two from red and white log cabin pattern.  Beautifully done,  Pat.

This blue quilt will be used as a table topper, it was made from two orphan blocks she had.  I love the blue, and the combination of blocks.

From Pat, a place mat in black and gray .  So pretty.

A wool wall hanging from Pat, for Halloween. I love the wool applique designs.

This quilt was a "Mystery  Quilt"  called "Maple Leaf"  The colors are so pretty together.

Lori showed us this really colorful, beautiful quilt in greens and turquoises.  It is made from Batiks and the pattern is made to resemble bricks.  Below is a closeup of the quilt.

Marian brought a number of place mats for our "Meals on Wheels" project.  The two together are reversible.

These bird wall hangings are from a panel.  Marian loves birds and has done a number of bird motif quilts.  See the closeup below.

Marian showed us her Mexican Star.  Every one of these quilts by  the members is special and individual because of the colors used.  Marian's looks very much "Mexican" or from the American southwest.  Beautiful.  Closeup in the second picture.

This special little quilt is a  UFO from Deb.  It's a "Texas Mail Trail".  Notice the "trail" in the closeup.  Very interesting use of design, original from Deb.  I took a  picture of the back because the fabric is so unique, and fun to look at.
