October Show and Tell, Delicate Stitchers

This quilt is an example of a "String" quilt.  It's made be sewing random strips of fabric, leftovers from other projects.  Shauna pieced this and quilted using her walking foot and sewing wavey lines from top to bottom.  It's an easy quilting technique on a quilt like this one.

This quilt from Shauna was simply squares of very soft flannel, crib sized for a charity in town.

This quilt from Shauna can be called "Starry Night" .  "I had a stack of blue squares and made them into 9 patches.  To add interest I made the yellow and white stars  which would have shown up better if there wasn't such variety in the blue 9 patches."

Glenda made this very cute, colorful crib size quilt, completed at a Cedar City Retreat.  Notice the components, the sun at the top, the blue sky from hexis and half hexis, the black and white sheep in the center, atop hexie flowers and grass.  Quilted by Pat Byrd.

Close up of the sheep, notice the specially designed eyes.

Deanna showed  us these two table toppers for the Fall holidays.  The special quilting, which is hard to catch in the photo, was done with silver iridescent thread.

This special quilt by Crystal was started long ago - a UFO for now.  The center squares were hand embroidered, close ups in the pictures below.  The special border are pieced blue stars.  Pat Byrd quilted this one for Crystal.  A really beautiful quilt to be used as a wall hanging in winter.

Close  ups of hand embroidery patterns of Crystal's "Blue Work".

This smallish quilt by Deanna was made from a pattern for Bench quilt.  She left it to be used as a table topper.
