Show and Tell, December 2022

This is Crystal Day, the president of the guild for the last year.  These are just some of the blocks made for Crystal by guild members.  Her next project is  to put these blocks together for her own special quilt.  Blues and lavenders in the same pattern, but the fabrics are from members' collections, each one individual and special.

Crystal showed this quilt called "Birds in Flight".  She made it (or at least started) it  in class at a quilt retreat. Love the colors and the adorable pattern.  Beautifully done.

The small, round quilt by Crystal was made at a Sew Saturday.   Called "Circles of Flying Geese",  it is paper pieced in a class taught by Marian.  So pretty, colors, beautifully done.

Deb showed us this Christmas tree wall hanging she made in 1994.  It was pieced with red ribbons and golden Christmas charms.  The border is called "piano keys", one of Deb's favorite border patterns.  So Stunning.

Deb showed us this "Holly Wreath" wall hanging.  The Holly leaves are appliqued and the piece is hand quilted with a Holly motif.  Fun decoration for the Christmas season.,

Pat shared with us this wool quilt, "block of the month " quilt which she started in October of 2021.  It is called "The Potting Shed".  It shows very specialized appliques, lots of beautifully done work.  Working with wool in applique is fun, as anyone who has done it will tell you.

Backing of "The Potting Shed".

Glenda made this Halloween table runner from a block exchange.  Notice the specialized picture in the bottom right square.  Very charming work, Glenda.  The next picture is of the back of the quilt.

Following is a series of work by Candi,  a lot accomplished for the month. The first is a table runner, "Pumpkins, Crows, and Fun".  Happy Halloween!

Happy Thanksgiving.  This table runner, in fall colors  creates turkeys with the Dresden Plate style pattern and the border is of 2 1/2 squares.  Really cute for the table.  Also, the back shows the quilting work.

This Queen sized quilt for Fall, "Autumn is Calling". was made larger by adding extra fabric to make it big enough to "fit my bed".  So pretty for the season, the center panel is surrounded by leaves in matching colors and the two large borders.  The red fabric below is the quilt's backing.
Wow, this quilt is stunning.

This large quilt is called "Wolf Song"  A center panel is surrounded by matching fabric borders, a birthday gift for my middle son.  "He's like a wolf, quiet and strong".  Yes, this quilt shows that!

This quilt is a Halloween challenge from Canyonlands Quilt fabric store.  Fifteen ladies, 24 squares, so much fun.

Lou called this "Gnome Table Runner".  It was made from her granddaughter's gnomes.  This pattern is so well done, looks complicated.

Here we have a series of work from Audrey.  The first is a Snowy Day Doll filled with pellets to be floppy and soft.  This is so cute, and lovable!

This small quilt, front and back was made of selvedge fabric cut into strips.  The square of selvedge fabrics in this pattern will be made into bags at a class Audrey will teach at the MARC in January.

This large blue quilt was purchased for $5 at the Tangren's garage sale.  The history is unknown, But the maker used the same fabric, cut into strips and sewn back together, alternating the direction of the quilting.  What a treasure to find at a "sale".
