Delicate Stitchers, Show and Tell, October, 2022

Peggy was in charge of the program this week and gave a lesson on the "Twista Block".  She had a book of instruction for this block, which showed a variety of uses for this technique.  Use this pattern for everything from small placemats, table runner, whole quilts of various sizes.  Also, the pattern can be made small size, medium or large for the individual pieces.  She showed us one that could be  used as a pot holder.  The next one was the same fabric in a table runner - with borders.

Here are two examples of how she used this block pattern.  I know she has several more examples.  Peg will be teaching The "Twista Block" at a Sew Saturday and at a retreat.

Paula Martin, with Halloween approaching, made stuffed bats from a panel and a pattern

This quilt, from Paula was "made for my Godchild who loves teal green colors".  The pattern is a "hidden 9-patch" pattern.  This pattern can look complicated as in this quilt.  It is a beautiful pattern of combined, complimentary fabric.

Candi Niesen had a wealth of product this month, beautiful quilts. This first quilt is called "Autumn is Calling".  It is Queen size with beautiful Autumn colors showing fruits, leaves and pumpkins.

This quilt, Candi started back in 2015 and just finished in 2022.  It is "Row by Row", the town of Moab, the mountain, Dino trail, and rockart.  This would be wonderful for hanging on the wall to decorate a family room or bedroom,

This quilt, by Candi, is of a cabin by the lake with fall colors.  Candi named it (for some reason) "The Cabin".  This is a beautiful quilt interestingly composed using the panel, and adding borders.

A "Family  Quilt"  I made the hands from tracing family  member's hands.  The State flower blocks are where we all were born.  I started this quilt in 201 4 and finished it this  year, 2022

"I was about Eight when I made this"  1961

Really beautiful quilt, called "Dessert Sky" made in a class taught by Mary Wakely.
