Delicate Stitchers Show and Tell April 2022Betty

Cathy showed us a small panel quilt with half square triangles of beiges and browns, lovely calming colors.  Quilting was done in such a way that the words on this panel are showcased.

Betty showed us this  baby quilt with mitered corners in cute, polka dotted fabric.

Pat made this beautiful big flower quilt to showcase her different quilting stitches, all done by hand guiding the machine.  Really beautiful quilt.

Next Pat showed us this very cheery red, orange, and green sampler quilt.

This quilt was made by Glenda, brought to show by Pat, it was made showing Mason Jars and specially quilted with circles.  Well done.

This large flannel, crazy quilt in dark, rich colors show by Pat, is a quilt you want to snuggle under on a cold mid winter night.

Cathy described her plan as she made this cheerful quilt of animal and plant pictures that look like water colors.  Beautiful fabrics in the pictures.

This "Mystery Block" was made by Cathy as a special gift,  to be explained later.

Candi brought us a treasure of past quilts.  This first one was started by a grandmother in about 1930 with beautiful soft colors and a unique design.  She finished it recently as this beautiful quilt.

By Candi:  a UFO for her granddaughter, pieced without a pattern with squares and rectangles that just Grew!

Candi:  this dazzling quilt is a Pentagon scrappy stash buster.  It's started with pentagon center, adding pieces in random order and then squared up into standard size block.

Candi:  This UFO was a Cross stitch top she has had for awhile.  Delicate looking and really beautiful.  A Treasure.

Candi:  This quilt is a large panel of a bears head, all joined to matching pieces.  A Stunning and impressive quilt.

Candi:  Amazing row by row quilt, machine appliqued with a landscape in every row.  This quilt needs to be looked at very closely and narrated as  you look at it.

Candi:  "My Houses" made on a retreat.  Each block, a quilt patterned treat.

Mary made this table runner from the "Tabletastic" book made from scraps of blues and creams, nice design.

This Really big quilt is named "Macaw" by Mary.  Black and white with bright colors accenting terrific Judy Niemeyer quilt design.  Notice the streamers of flying geese  done with paper piecing with hand dyed batiks.

Mary went to our source of fabrics at the Grand Center and found the fabric for these quilts for our town charities.  Beautiful and a lot of work to be cherished by those who receive them.

Peggy created this wonderful and impressive abstract landscape that utilized lots of dots - love the colors.
She  had these fabric left over and started improvising.  She says it's not finished  yet - still some playing to do.

Kim showed us a crocheted rug she picked up at Donna's yard/moving sale.  She crocheted more on it to make it her own,.

A  UFO by Deb "Hearts Riding on an Orphan Train", named after the fabric.  There is a big heart in the corner that makes an attractive focal point.

Another UFO from Deb, sweet and colorful wallhanging.

Crystal is showing here a pattern that imitates a wagon wheel pattern mixed in with black and white 4 patch squares.  Great pattern, colors, and technique

We decided this quilt could be considered a UFO as it was made from a bag full of stray pieces given to Shauna by Tommye.  Shauna finished the quilt to go along with one from the same bag last month which was a "Courthouse Steps" made with small 9 patches for the centers.  There was a ton of small 9 patches in the collection, each piece a finished 1".  So even though there were a LOT of finished squares handed over, Shauna had a lot of sewing to do to finish this "Double Nine Patch.
