January 2022 Show and Tell

Peggy introduced her lesson on quilting on your domestic machine using an assortment of rulers, straight and curvy.  Here she is showing examples of her quilts  using her rulers.  She showed a book she recommended.

Peggy showed an unusual T-Shirt quilt she created where she cut the T-shirt close to the logo, then fit these pieces together, as in a puzzle.  She quilted it using the "quilt as you go" method, as trying to quilt the entire quilt would have been too heavy  to move on her domestic machine.

Vonda showed a baby size quilt where she practiced making flying geese pattern and also free motion quilting on her domestic machine.  Charming little quilt.
Susan Shenton, showed her "Mexican Star" wall hanging.  Such beautiful colors on a wonderful pattern.

Chyrrel showed these three examples of her work,  The top picture is of a pillow, she made several for Christmas on her long arm machine.  The second example is a single Irish Chain pattern in light reds and pinks.  The third example is a pattern from Carmen Geddes with red hearts.  Such pretty work.

Mary Wakely showed us this beautiful wall hanging made from Civil War fabrics.  The next examples of her work are the two table runners made from colorful scraps.

Mary also made this wall hanging of a pieced leaf.  The background was quilted separately and then the leaf was appliqued over that.  Exquisite piece.

Linda Cutter made this "I Spy" quilt, fussy cutting her designs and piecing it with dark sashing to make the squares pop.  Very special.

Pat Byrd created this sampler quilt at a "Block of the Month Club" using the Red/White/Blue patriotic colors.  So beautiful.

Cathy Tuhy made these place mats to match the colors in her kitchen

Cathy also made this quilt for a soon- to-be grandson from a panel.  A lot of special work went in to the accessories, the extra Prairie Points, and embroidery.  Wonderful for the new baby.

Shauna Dickerson made this baby size quilt for the charity in town, Pregnancy Center.

These two quilts made by Shauna will go to the "Linus Project" charity.  The pattern is called "double triangle from "Film in the Fridge" web site.  The top one is more pastel for a girl and the second one is darker for a boy.  The bottom picture shows the backing for the boy quilt  using similar fabric and orphaned blocks from the front.

This lovely sampler quilt made by Lisa Ceniceros is from white, teal and peach fat quarters.  Awsome quilt.
