July 2020 Show and Tell

The Delicate Stitchers Quilt Guild had their monthly meeting at Rotary Park with proper social distancing.
Some of the ladies and gents are staying busy finishing up their UFO's and other sewing projects.

The quilt above was made by Audrey... "Summer Garden."  The outside border uses leftover pieces making it irregular or wonky.  Then on the top border she used some embroidered dishtowels making a great border for the pillow tops on the bed.

Below is a quilt Shauna made using all the scraps left over from the big block quilt below this one.

Pretty Quilt

Shauna made this quilt after she was given 10 blocks.  She finished the quilt by making two more blocks and adding the scrappy sashing.

Shauna taught the Flying Geese block for our lesson and then showed how she uses all the little triangles a person cuts off when making a flying geese block.  Notice all the tiny half square triangles in the quilt below!  Unlike many of us, Shauna not only saves scraps but she uses them!  Such an inspiration!

Below, Michelle Walker is showing her overnight bag she made that she keeps in her car.  She used flexible thin cutting mat to stiffen it, making it like a little suitcase.

Above, Vonda shows her farm quilt.  Her husband saw the quilt in a quilt shop and admired it, so they purchased everything to make one for themselves.

Lee and Susan Shenton joined in.  License Plate fabric in their masks!  Fun!
Aaran showed several projects!  Microwave bowls above.  Masks made from wool scraps for her kids.  (Scraps complements of Bonnie!)  A border made of floating triangles... and a Modern Dresdan.  She has been busy and creative!

Below, Top was pieced by Judi Simon featuring chicken fabric. Cheryl quilted it and hoped Judi was fine with her sharing it.

Above, We always like seeing the back of a quilt because it often showcases the quilting.

Below, a flower quilt top found by family in Paradox that was very old.  Cheryl had to treat it with TLC, adding some stabilizer to parts of it before quilting it.  It's always nice when a quilt gets rescued and finished!

Below, Just a few shots of gals gathering.  13 in attendance.

Until next month...
