April Show and Share

April Show and Share Mary p resented a lesson on applique.  She showed a bit of her process and the wall hangings she made doing fusible raw edge applique.   Mary showed us the hat she embellished with beading.  She was working to finish the band at March's Sew Saturday. Mary is showing her cute Easter Egg shaped table runner.  She explained how she did the Quilt As You Go technique. Cathy is making Simple Whatnots by Kim Diehl in a Grand Junction class at the Owl's Nest Quilt Store.  She said she is learning so much by piecing all the little pieces. Lyla Ott, a visiting guest, showed two old crazy quilts made by her great grandmother.  We had fun looking at the different fabrics and details.   Mary had fun making a pencil swag for the classroom her granddaughter is in.  Each student also got a personalized pencil with their name.   Shauna made this disappearing 9-patch for her nephew's wedding.  He requested black white and green.  Notice the pieced back using left overs.  She did the quilting on her domestic machine.   Wow!  Amazing work!  A UFO by Pat Byrd Wool applique A knitted bag made by Pat Byrd Deb Shank with her new purse, a pattern of Bonnie's but so many modifications that it is now Deb's pattern.  She loves her bright colors!
