Quilting in the Red Rocks Quilt Show  April 30 - May 1, 2022 The Moab Museum will follow up with the  "Lotsa Dots" Challenge quilts for the month of  May 2022 2022 QUILTING IN THE RED ROCKS QUILT SHOW After canceling its scheduled 2021 quilt show because of Covid 19, Delicate Stitchers Quilt Guild is back on track and happy to celebrate its twenty-fourth anniversary by presenting its 11th biennial Quilting in the Red Rocks Quilt Show!   The location is the Grand Center, 182 N. 500 West, and will be held the weekend of April 30 & May 1.   The hours are Saturday, April 30, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, May 1, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Admission, as always, is FREE!   Antique, traditional and art quilts, previous challenge quilts, quilted home décor and wearable art will be on display, along with our beautiful red and white Opportunity Quilt made by Guild members and expertly quilted by Lou Gostlin.   Deb created this special design for a class.  She finished it for a class on basic quilting techniques.  I love this pattern, all original. Cathy created this cute quilt for a nephew.    The second quilt is the alphabet, So charming.   The top quilt is the "back" for when the child is older so he can play with his Hot Wheels cars on it. Paula  made this beautiful, subtle blues and lavender sampler quilt, lap size, She also showed us her practice doodling, quilting designs taught by Peggy Kim  made this gloriously colored quilt that reminds us of a sunset.   She also made the variegated quilt made as "quilt as you go".  She finished it on a long arm machine.  Love the fabric's arrangement. Betty Badger showed us two pieces, a flag wall hanging  made at a retreat,  and the table runner made with small yellow and blue squares. Pat Byrd showed us a paper pieced pillow made from beautiful fabric.  Her second piece was a tote made from South Western fabric. Linda Cutter showed a "self binding" receiving blanket using a panel of cute, loveable animal pictures.  Linda also showed us a bag/tote made from rolled up fabric, stuffed with batting.   Mary Wakely has been very busy, with lots to share.  First, a wall hanging of the flag.  Second, she made two baby blankets, very colorful (I only pictured the one here) for charity.   Next Mary showed us this "UFO", Red and White 9 patch in the Single Irish Chain  pattern.  Beautiful.   Peggy introduced her lesson on quilting on your domestic machine using an assortment of rulers, straight and curvy.  Here she is showing examples of her quilts  using her rulers.  She showed a book she recommended. Peggy showed an unusual T-Shirt quilt she created where she cut the T-shirt close to the logo, then fit these pieces together, as in a puzzle.  She quilted it using the "quilt as you go" method, as trying to quilt the entire quilt would have been too heavy  to move on her domestic machine.   Vonda showed a baby size quilt where she practiced making flying geese pattern and also free motion quilting on her domestic machine.  Charming little quilt.
