February Show and Tell

Michele finished this pillow which was a UFO she found at a yard sale.  Below she showed  a copy of the Quiltfolk magazine featuring Utah quilters.  She added it to the library.

As part of our 2026 Service Project, Michelle made this large apron suitable for a man or woman.

Diane made this quilt from a kit she was given at the Stitch and Sew Retreat.  Originally it only had one red accent, but she added another after her son suggested the two could represent Rachel Good and Alex Pretti.  He also suggested that the interlocking circles represented the twin cities in Minnesota.  She will add borders and quilt it.  We hope to see it in our quilt show.

Glenda made these two aprons for our service project.  So cute!

Marian shared her Medallion quilt featuring Acorn Woodpeckers that her husband photographed it Arizona.  She explained the borders represented trees.  The fabric on the right is an actual photo on fabric of the bark of the tree....
The little dots on the squares remided her of the holes they poke into wood where they store acorns.

Shauna finished her "Double Nine Patch" Quilt using the 1.5" squares she was given.  She says she is enjoying the double nine patch pattern.  We can expect more since she says she still has a box of 1.5" squares!

Deb's Valentine quilt, a UFO.  Below she is showing some of the challenges she encountered with adding the border after cutting it wrong.  She also talked about the math involved in doing setting triangles.  "For Pete's Sake!"  Was what she had to say about that!

Paula is showing her finished quilt made from a kit.  Below is her quilting that shows on the back.  She did a lot of pebbles on the background and was a little exasperated at the labor involved!  :)  But wow!

Myra, a new member tonight, showing her first quilt which she named Wabi Sabi.  Below she is showing the quilting and the label.  She ran into some gals at the quilt store from the Sunset Slope Quilt Retreat and made connections not only with them but with our guild.  We are so glad to have a new quilter join us!

Audrey is showing two large quilt tops she has recently completed. "Hmm, she says, "I must be retired!" This disappearing 4 patch was going to be a shower curtain for her mom, but didn't work out.  So now, it will go to the long-armer and hopefully be in our quilt show.  The quilt below is the "Rachel Quilt," not on point, which she made at the Stitch and Sew Retreat.  What a happy quilt!

Peggy showing the quilted shoes she made at the Canyonlands Quilt Retreat and also wearing the sweatshirt she embellished at the Stitch and Sew Retreat.  Both projects were a great way to use up some of that stash!  Imagine how many pairs of shoes one could have!
