October Show and Tell

Vonda made this for her Son and Daughter in Law.  It is Hunter's Star in her DIL's favorite colors.  The sunflowers on the back were perfect!

Vonda also made this shirt for herself and the Advent Calendar below.  All her grands want one and she can't find anymore kits!

Chyrrel showing off the
aprons to make at Canyonlands Quilts.

More Cuteness being shown by Chyrrel.  Perfect for your little Trick or Treaters.

Pat showing some "Poppins Bags."  They bought at a show.  The gal that made these is willing to teach a class in Moab.  Tentative date, sometime in April.

Candi is one prolific quilter!  Above her Halloween/Day of the Dead Quilt.  On the right a lovely Bear Panel enhanced with great borders.  Below a Bargello Flag she made for herself.

Butterflies and Hummers panel quilt with stars by Candi.

Not a UFO... She started this at the retreat.  Note the beautiful backing she found to go with it.  Pictured below.

Below she shows us her Nordic Nights also started at the January Retreat.  It's a beauty!

Deanne with her July Table Runner.  She added Christmas Striped binding when she ran out of blue.  We thought it looked great.

Notice how nice the quilting is on the back.

Cathy loves making pillow cases and makes them for her mom who is at the care center.  What a nice way to cheer her up.

Below, Cathy showed the Bargello Flag that she finished for our service project.  She has one more at home almost bound.

We will be giving these flags out on November 11, to our veterans during the Veteran's Day Memorial.

Tina shared the quilt that Shauna made for a friend who requested one like Peggy McNeil's with petroglyph rubbings.  Shauna painted each petroglyph and quilted the whole thing.

Dianne shared this Civil War Table Runner.  She explained how the colors represent soldiers of one side being surrounded by the soldiers on the other side.

The name of this quilt is  Mimosa.  The pattern was found in March 8th Woman's Day Magazine.

As always, we admired the back as well as the front!

The next five quilts were all UFO's that Deb finished.  Wow!

What a lovely Patriotic Medallion quilt.  Deb talked about the symbolism in all the colors and shapes.  That partial star border really sets it off.

This cute kids quilt is finished!  But so far, it doesn't have a recipient.

What a fun fall quilt, front and back.

Jerry Dunbar - Quilter from Denver visited and did a trunk show of the quilts he has recently finished.
All original designs.. and all hand quilted.

This quilt is called, "Ian's Bed is Broken."

Deb once said to Jerry that she liked the pink accent on the binding.  Since then he has decided he really likes Pink and that bright green.  He showed 4 quilts that he called Pink BaZing... or Pink FraZing.

Look at the quilting design both front and back below.

Pink Sunrise... He writes the number of hours he works on his labels.  This quilt has 319 hours in it.  That includes the piecing and quilting.

He does have some strange sleep habits!

More playing with Triangles.  This is still a flimsy... not yet quilted.

Delectable Mountains!

Round robin by 1 person.
What a beautiful Medallion quilt!

Blue Series #1
He bought blue fabric in 1992 and put it to use in 2012.  This quilt hung in the Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum Men's Quilting show.

Blue Series #2 - Trials, Rejects, and Jigsaws.

Blue Series # 3  Wishing Star.
This is the 250th quilt in his diary.

And with that... the meeting adjourned.
