September Show and Tell

Deb Slechta shows the quilt she made with 6.5" squares.  The Squares are sewn in a grid and then cut on diagonals. When the triangles are sewn back on, the quilt magically appears on point.
She added a flange to the bordered edge because the side triangles have their points cut off.

She gave out instructions and planned to teach it on Saturday for those interested.  Makes a great baby quilt or lap quilt.

Chyrrel showed several samples from her shop. A make and take Table Topper, a Tree Skirt, Advent Calendars and a panel made into
Attic Windows.
Go to Canyonlands Quilts and checkout all the fun projects coming up.
She also announced two clubs she is starting at the shop, a Featherweight Club and a Long Arm quilting club.

Petenia showing a quilt she made for her neice to take to college.  She likes strawberries and raspberries which are depicted in her color choice.  The back of the quilt also had some fabrics with the fruit.

Crystal showing this modern quilt for her neice that is getting married.

Below:  The back is often as pretty as the front for showing off the texture of quilting.

Below she is showing her Fall Themed UFO which features her wool embroidery.

Marian showing a landscape quilt she made years ago. Since it had never been in a show, it was in our Seasons show this year.

Below is her "First Sip at Sunrise,"  created specifically for the 2024 Seasons Challenge.  She used her husband's photo as inspiration.

It won 1st place in the viewers choice at the Museum.  Congratulations Marian!

Marian made this quilt for her Great Grandchild using half square triangles.  It is also an "I spy" quilt.  She said some of the fabrics were nostalgic since they had been used in other items she had made through the years.

Deb showed her challenge quilt which has a picture of her as a baby in the center.  She used special fabrics that complimented the photo.  The white fabric has snaps on it.  She also used inks to color the photo.

What in the world has Audrey re-made now?

She was wrestling with this re-made object and then she demonstrated what it will be used for!  :)

It's her port-a-potty tent... and notice it goes perfectly with her retro-turquoise travel trailer!

Mary's Challenge quilt created for the Seasons Quilt Challenge and for the Butterfly themed Quilt Retreat coming in January.

Mary's lucky sister will be getting a set of seasonal pillow cases for  her bench.
